Development of a website on WordPress for a center for digital and green transformation Ukraine EDIH

Setting key objectives
01. Assignment
The main goal of the project was to create an image-based and functional website that would reflect the mission and activities of the Central Ukrainian ECIH, introduce partners, areas of work and simplify communication with small and medium-sized businesses, public sector organizations, scientific and industrial structures.
Key tasks:
- Present the ECIH as a reliable center for supporting digital and green transformation.
- Organize information about the mission, partners and areas of activity.
- Provide easy navigation and a form for feedback/requests.
- Create a website that meets the European level of information presentation.
Realization of the set tasks
02. Stages of work execution

The Progamma Agency team implemented a full cycle of website development for the Central Ukrainian European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) – taking into account the specifics of the organization’s activities, its mission and the needs of the target audience.
Building a website for a digital and green transformation organization requires more than just web development. Such a site should work to enhance the image, reflect expertise and inspire trust – both among representatives of small and medium-sized businesses and international partners. Therefore, the project was implemented according to a clear, proven scenario:
1. Research and strategic planning
An analysis of the structure of the ECIH, its partner organizations, areas of activity and communication tasks was carried out. Based on this, the concept of the site was built – understandable, convincing and strategically verified.
What did you do at this stage:
- We immersed ourselves in the specifics of the project: the goals of the hub, its audience, the tasks that the site should solve.
- We identified key semantic blocks and messages.
- We formed the structure of the site: only the necessary sections, without overloading with unnecessary ones.
Many clients admit: “We don’t fully understand how to submit information.” This is fine. It is at this stage that the Progamma Agency team helps to form the semantic frame of the future site.
2. Development of design and visual concept
After agreeing on the structure and semantic load, we began creating the visual appearance of the site. The main goal is to convey the technology, modernity and openness of the ECIH, while maintaining ease of perception and logical navigation.
What did you do at this stage:
- An individual design has been developed in a corporate color scheme, reflecting associations with digital and energy innovations.
- Prototypes of key pages were created: home, “About the hub”, “Partners”, “Areas of specialization”, “News”, “Contacts”, etc.
- Visual accents have been thought out: icons, markers, infographics, adaptive layout that preserves the design on all devices.
A frequent question from clients: “How unique should the design be?” The answer is as much as it is important for you to stand out in your field. What we do is not just beautiful, but strategically appropriate.

3. Development and integration
At this stage, the design turns into a living, working tool. The site is implemented on WordPress, a convenient and flexible CMS that allows the customer to easily edit content and add new materials in the future.
What was implemented:
- Full layout of all templates with adaptation for smartphones, tablets, desktops.
- Integration of content blocks with a flexible management system: adding news, publishing events, working with multilingualism.
- Implementation of sections: “Mission and Goals”, “Affiliate Network”, “Services”, “News”, “Contacts”, with active link navigation.
- Connecting feedback forms and maps with geolocation.
One of the key questions: “Will we then be able to manage the site ourselves?” – Yes. The entire structure is designed for self-editing without technical knowledge.
4. SEO-preparation
Creating a website is half the battle. For it to work for results, it needs to be visible in the search. Already at the development stage, the foundations of effective SEO and a system for tracking user behavior were laid.
What did SEO preparation include:
- Setting up meta tags (title, description), correct H1–H3 headings.
- Optimizing site loading speed, adaptability and readability of content.
- Installation of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console.
- Creation of a site map and robots.txt files for correct indexing.
Clients often ask: “When will the site start bringing traffic?” — Already after indexing, but stable growth is achieved with the correct further SEO strategy. We are laying a solid foundation for this.
5. Testing and launch
The final stage is comprehensive testing and publication of the site in production. We check everything: the clickability of elements, correct display on different devices, loading speed and compliance with technical requirements.
At this stage:
- All navigation and logic of transitions between pages were tested.
- Adaptive testing was carried out on popular devices and browsers.
- Tested to ensure compliance with basic safety requirements.
- The transfer to the main hosting has been carried out, the domain and SSL certificate have been configured.
After this, the site was successfully launched and transferred to the customer with access and management instructions.
Even after the launch, we are in touch – we accompany, advise, suggest how to develop the project further.
Achievement of key objectives
03. Expected result and actual result
It was planned: To create a simple, understandable and reliable web resource that will become the central point of communication between the ECIH and external audiences.
It turned out:
- A modern website that reflects the goals and values of the ECIH demonstrates a professional level of approach.
- Convenient structure with quick navigation to key areas and partners.
- Interest in the activities of the ECIH has increased: after the launch of the site, the number of requests and applications for cooperation from SMEs and educational institutions increased.
- The site has become an effective tool for popularizing digital transformation in central Ukraine.

FAQ about creating an EDIH website
How to choose a contractor for a digital center image project?
Creating a website for EDIH is a complex process that includes UX/UI design, structure design, admin panel setup and integration of functionality aimed at users from government agencies, business and science. We think through the visual and semantic hierarchy, providing clear navigation, emphasizing the mission of the center and focusing on its partners. Loading speed, adaptability and compliance with European standards are also important - we took all this into account in the Ukraine EDIH project.
An image website is not just a business card, but an instrument of trust. Centers like EDIH work with international partners, small and medium-sized businesses, and the academic community. The site helps present the values, transparency and goals of the organization, simplifies communication and application. It also demonstrates the high level of digital maturity of the center itself.
The main functions are a clear structure of information, sections by areas of activity, visual representation of partners, blocks of news and events, and, of course, a convenient feedback form. Multilingualism, accessibility for users with disabilities, and sometimes integration with CRM or other systems are also important. All this makes the site a working tool, and not just a presentation.
We were guided by the requirements for official websites of European projects: compliance with security standards, privacy (including GDPR), multilingual, clean design, logical structure and clear interface. Also, the site must be adaptive for different devices, have clear call-to-action and demonstrate transparency of the organization’s work.
User experience is what determines whether a visitor stays on a site and finds the information they need. For EDIH, we developed UX solutions that would help quickly navigate complex terms and a large amount of content. Simple navigation, clickable cards of partners and thematic areas, clear forms - all this makes the site an effective communication tool.
In this project, a CMS was chosen that allows you to easily update content, manage multilingualism and adapt to future expansion. We always select a CMS based on the client’s goals: if scalability and flexibility are important, WordPress or Drupal are suitable; if you need a focus on speed and simplicity, we consider lightweight frameworks or custom solutions.
On average, it takes from 4 to 8 weeks to develop an image and functional website, like Ukraine EDIH. This includes strategy, design, layout, programming, testing and content. We accompany the client at all stages, including post-launch support and training.
